Getting players Empty Getting players

I am going to voice my preference for an auction type system. While drafts have some advantages, I think that this system is best suited for a long-term dynasty type league. To start, it gives each owner an equal opportunity to obtain each player, with luck largely eliminated from the equation. The only thing that keeps you from obtaining a player is if you aren't willing to spend the money relative to someone else in the league. I also think that this is a much easier way to determine a player's "cost" than a draft system, where you would have to determine which draft pick is lost in order to keep a player as opposed to how much of one's budget is gone. I also think that this means that initial player selection comes at a premium. If you are locked into a budget, and simply dropping a player costs a portion of that budget, then our league will more closely approximate reality than typical fantasy leagues where people use the waiver wire like a bench or stream pitchers. That is not usual in the majors, and there's no reason we should create a system where it is almost guaranteed to happen. So those are my initial thoughts. Looking forward to hearing what others think.

I am totally on board with an auction system. I feel that it is superior to a snake draft when doing a keeper league.
